Events & Traditions
The unmissable Events in Bosa
The first appointment of the year is that of the Carnival. For the occasion, Bosa explodes in a carousel of traditional and impromptu masks that give the city a long joyful period.
In the height of summer, two events of great scenic impact are, on the first Sunday of August, S. Maria del Mare, the fishermen's festival dedicated to the Madonna, their protector, which is accompanied along the river by a picturesque procession of decorated boats. second weekend of September the feast dedicated to Our Madonna of Regnos Altos populates the alleys of the historic center with the so-called "altarittos", made by the inhabitants of the "Sa Costa" district, and with long tables where tourists and residents mingle joyfully enjoying drinks and typical dishes of the local gastronomy.
The beaches & Coast of Bosa
Bosa Marina
1 km of sandy beach, with shallow water. Establishments, refreshment points, water sports. Make it the ideal destination for families. At the end of the beach, the pier connects it with the red island where the Aragonese Tower stands out, an example of military architecture of the sixteenth century. Awarded several times by Legambiente for the beauty of the sea with 5 sails.
S’abba druque (sweet water)
About 3 km from Bosa along the coast road that goes towards Alghero. Three coves with blue sea, fine sand and wild nature all around. There are parking and a refreshment point.
Cumpoltittu
You will find it in the direction of Alghero about 6 km from Bosa. It is possible to get there by car and park on a clearing. Then continue on foot along a winding and impervious path in the midst of the Mediterranean scrub. The coves will appear in all their beauty with green waters and fine sand.
The Naturalistic Fauna
Bosa is also a site of great naturalistic interest. In the hinterland and north of the mouth of the Temo river, there are numerous species of protected animals, especially the various colonies of griffon vultures to be admired on a sailing trip or by boat on the river. The heavenly seabed, rich in corals and lobsters, is an ideal destination for snorkelling enthusiasts.
Other renowned places for trekking and birdwatching are the biomarine park of Capo Marrargiu and the nature reserve of Badde Aggiosu and Monte Mannu.
And about 2 km from the center of the village, you will find the hamlet of Bosa Marina, with its famous and unspoiled sandy beach, famous for its transparent waters.
The kind reception staff will be at your disposal to book boat trips on the river and the coast, trekking, birdwatching.
